GRAVHOUNDS Tutorial: Start at the Holo Table

Start the GRAVHOUNDS tutorial at the Holo Table, understand demo mode unlocks, and check Early Access fixes for solo access, controls and loading.

Updated

01

Begin the opening shift at the ship's Holo Table

After the opening sequence, follow the instruction to report to the Holo Table aboard the ship and use it to begin your first tutorial shift. In the demo, tutorial completion unlocks Single Player, while Multiplayer can be entered without finishing it.

02

Start the shift from the opening objective

  1. Follow the opening instruction to the Holo Table aboard the ship to reach the starting interaction.
  2. Use the Holo Table to begin your first shift and proceed to the Collector-centered landing zone.
  3. Read the current objective after arrival so you can begin the construction task the tutorial is introducing.

The opening shift introduces building, mining, defending and extraction in sequence. Establishing a working base around the Collector comes before completing the resource and defense tasks. Follow the active objective as it changes, because trying to skip ahead can leave you searching for an interaction that has not been introduced yet.

Identify where your attempt stops before choosing a troubleshooting step. Being unable to interact aboard the ship, failing to load the shift and having an objective stop advancing are different symptoms. Note the last action that worked so you can test the relevant part of the process.

03

Understand the demo's mode unlocks

The playtest-to-demo changes allowed players to enter Multiplayer before completing the tutorial. Single Player still required tutorial completion in that demo flow. The same update moved Multiplayer to the first main-menu position and sent players to the Host/Join screen after finishing the tutorial.

For a demo player following that flow, reaching Host/Join after the tutorial is expected. You can learn through Multiplayer with friends before completing the tutorial, but the demo's Single Player unlock still depends on finishing it. Keep these demo rules separate from the Early Access bug that could make Single Player unavailable after multiplayer.

04

Check the Early Access access, input and loading fixes

The November 6 Early Access update addressed Single Player access after multiplayer, F-key rebinding and rare session-loading crashes. It also included save recovery improvements and a rare GPU crash fix. These changes are relevant when the obstacle is accessing a mode, using a binding or loading a session.

Install available updates before retesting the same action. Keep your test focused on the symptom you actually encountered, and note whether the result changes. An update is a sensible starting point, but avoid assuming every tutorial problem has the same cause.

  • Single Player became unavailable after multiplayer: the Early Access update includes a fix for that access problem.
  • A custom F-key binding did not work correctly: the update improves keybinding support and fixes that rebinding issue.
  • The game crashed while entering or leaving a session: a rare crash during those transitions was fixed.
  • A save or load error interrupted progress: the update improves error messages and recovery choices, and fixes a rare progress-loss issue.
  • The Holo Table interaction overlapped with an emote: the update fixes interacting with the table while emoting and emoting while using it.
  • Controller navigation failed in the server browser: the update includes a correction for that navigation issue.
05

If the shift starts but the tutorial stops advancing

At the Pipeline objective, confirm the connection instead of leaving the connector in motion. At the Fabricator objective, position the building over the highlighted active node until it snaps, then confirm placement. Holding the kit in placement mode does not complete the assembly objective.

At the resource objective, check delivery as well as mining. The tutorial asks for Titanium to reach the Collector, and pieces that miss the processor or Pipeline do not complete that delivery. Use the Grav Beam to reposition missed material and watch it enter the collection system.

At extraction, activating Launch Prep begins another defense period. Keep protecting the Collector until the game tells you to return, then board before liftoff. Successful extraction brings you back to the ship, where the Research Lab becomes available and the next instruction is to unlock a Turret design.

06

Recover a failed multiplayer connection

Use this sequence when the failure happens while joining or rejoining a multiplayer session. GRAVHOUNDS uses player-hosted multiplayer, so the host's hardware and internet connection affect connection quality and performance. Keep a failed join attempt separate from an interaction problem inside the tutorial.

  1. Return to the main menu after the failed join or rejoin attempt to prepare for another connection.
  2. Reconnect to the session from the main menu to test whether joining now succeeds.
  3. Ask the host to recreate the session if the connection problem persists.
07

Report a tutorial problem that still occurs

Send a reproducible remaining issue through the official Steam Discussions community. Include your platform, game version and the actions that lead to the failure, preferably with a video. Describe the exact stopping point so the report distinguishes a missing mode, an ignored interaction and a loading crash.

  1. Record your platform and installed game version so the report identifies the environment where the problem occurs.
  2. Write the actions leading to the failure in order so someone else can follow the same route.
  3. Copy any displayed error wording so the report preserves the message you actually received.
  4. Capture a short video of the failure if possible to show the interaction or transition that stops working.
  5. Open GRAVHOUNDS Steam Discussions to submit your tutorial issue with the reproduction details.
